In December 1962 Pietrino Cicaḷ followed his unfailing business instinct
and went through a high capital investment to open the first department store
(Grandi Magazzini) in Nuoro which quickly became the second biggest store
in Sardinia after "La Rinascente" in Cagliari.
This has been an important business event for the city and the whole province.

The family Cicaḷ is running the "Grandi Magazzini" in Nuoro still nowadays.
It became an everyday destination for all citizens, it got inside the houses
of the people
and became a part of their life through its everyday items.
Today it becomes itself a house building.
